Air Abrasion

Many times cavities can be treated when they are small and do not require the use of a drill to open the tooth. An air abrasion filling is a procedure that uses a high speed stream of air and aluminum oxide to clean out the deep grooves and cracks in the teeth. It is similar to using a high pressured air in a can when cleaning off your computer keyboard. Once the tooth has been cleaned out a tooth colored filling will be placed and polished as needed.
